Ansar Ahmad promotes Riau-Lingga history to Attorney General official

Riau Islands Governor Ansar Ahmad hosted Reda Manthovani, the Junior Attorney General for Intelligence, on a tour of Pulau Penyengat in Tanjungpinang on August 25, 2026. The visit served as a platform to promote the history of the Riau-Lingga Sultanate and the cultural tourism potential of the Malay heritage.

During the tour, Governor Ansar presented models for the National Language Monument and the Pulau Penyengat Museum at the Indera Perkasa Traditional Hall. He highlighted the lineage of national hero Raja Ali Haji and the significance of his literary work, Gurindam Dua Belas, in Malay intellectual development.

The delegation also visited the graves of Raja Hamidah (Engku Putri) and Raja Ali Haji to offer prayers and learn about their roles in building Malay civilization. The visit concluded at the Sultan Riau Grand Mosque, where the Governor explained the building's unique architecture and historical significance. The provincial government aims to establish Pulau Penyengat as an integrated center for historical education and tourism.
