Germany reports surge in violent crimes and fraud

Germany has experienced a series of violent crimes and incidents across various regions. In Aschaffenburg, a 24-year-old man is in custody for attempted manslaughter following a knife attack on a supermarket parking lot. In Hagen, an 18-year-old woman is in custody for a brutal attempted murder where a 67-year-old man was set on fire.

Traffic-related incidents include a severe hit-and-run in Werdau, where a 44-year-old driver injured a postal worker and fled, and a collision between a car and a light rail vehicle in Stuttgart. In Frankfurt-Eckenheim, a towing service was shot at by a group of young men during a vehicle impoundment.

Theft and fraud remain prevalent, with reports of burglars in Bühl and Klein Ammensleben, grave ornament thefts in Westerburg, and multiple instances of ‘handyman fraud’ in Gelsenkirchen, Wülfrath, and Haan, where criminals pose as service workers to rob elderly residents. Additionally, arson was reported at a clinic in Bad Schwalbach.
