Ansenuza National Park hosts wildlife conservation and tourism activities
Ansenuza National Park in Córdoba, Argentina, is hosting a public vote to name a pair of maned wolves (aguará guazú) living within the protected area. The pair, which is currently raising four pups monitored by camera traps, is also being tracked via satellite collars to study their movement and reproduction. The voting process, organized by the National Parks Administration and Aves Argentinas, offers three name options and aims to engage the public in protecting this species, which is a Natural Monument in Córdoba.
Additionally, the park has become a major destination for nature tourism due to its diverse ecosystem, including the Mar Chiquita Lagoon. The area serves as a critical habitat for over 350 bird species, most notably large concentrations of Andean, Chilean, and James's flamingos, which attract photographers and birdwatchers during the spring and summer months.
