Argentina implements September service and benefit adjustments

Argentina faces a wave of price adjustments in September driven by a 2.1% increase in the cost of living. Key sectors experiencing hikes include public transport, private healthcare, and education.

Public transport fares in the Buenos Aires metropolitan area and Gran La Plata will rise, with bus fares increasing by approximately 4.1% to 4.3%. Subway fares in the City of Buenos Aires are set to increase by 4%. Private school fees will also rise, with adjustments of 4.2% in the City and 2.5% in the province.

In the healthcare sector, prepaid medicine plans will see increases ranging from 1.9% to 3.11%, with Swiss Medical implementing a 3.11% hike.

Social benefits and pensions are also being adjusted. The minimum pension will rise to $428,591.22, and the Universal Child Allowance (AUH) will increase by 2.1%. However, the extraordinary bonus for retirees will decrease as monthly incomes approach $489,775.93. ANSES has released the payment schedule for September based on DNI endings.
