ANSES updates unemployment benefits and pension adjustments in Argentina
The National Social Security Administration (ANSES) has established updated amounts for unemployment benefits in Argentina. For the month of October, the benefit features a minimum floor of $191,900 and a maximum ceiling of $383,800. The exact amount is calculated based on the worker's previous salary and registered contributions. Benefits are paid in installments ranging from 2 to 12 months, with an additional six-month extension available for individuals over the age of 45.
To qualify, permanent workers must have at least six months of contributions within the three years prior to dismissal. Eventual or seasonal workers require more than 90 days of contributions within the last year. Applications must be submitted within 90 business days of termination to avoid payment deductions.
Additionally, regarding pension payments, the concept of ‘Aguinaldo Reparación Histórica’ has been clarified. This is not a universal bonus for all retirees, but rather a proportional portion of the annual supplementary salary (SAC) for those whose pensions were adjusted under the Historical Reparation program (Law 27,260). Beneficiaries can verify their eligibility through the MiANSES platform.
