ANSES warns of scams and denies massive data breach rumors

The National Social Security Administration (ANSES) in Argentina has issued warnings regarding an increase in fraudulent activities targeting retirees and pensioners. Scammers are using methods such as phone calls, emails, and social media posts to impersonate agency officials. These criminals often use 'vishing' techniques, leveraging real personal data like DNI or CUIL numbers to gain trust and solicit sensitive information, including bank details and security codes.

Parallel to these active scams, unverified reports have circulated on social media claiming a massive data breach involving 38 million records from the Integrated Pension System (SIPA). While cybersecurity forums reported a potential leak on the dark web, there has been no independent confirmation of a hack. ANSES has officially denied that its systems were breached, stating that they have received no reports of such an incident.
