Portugal's Vaudeville Rendez-Vous circus festival expands to five cities

The 12th edition of the International Vaudeville Rendez‑Vous festival, Portugal's largest contemporary circus event, runs from 15 to 18 July 2026. The programme now reaches five cities – Viana do Castelo, Barcelos, Braga, Guimarães and Vila Nova de Famalicão – with 18 shows, around 40 free sessions and eight national premieres. Under the theme “Change and Transformation”, the festival adds a new “Hidden Circus” line for emerging artists and showcases works that reflect climate‑related instability and social upheaval.

Across the country, other municipal festivals also take place. Odivelas celebrates its city festivities with free evening concerts through 19 July, featuring artists such as Matias Damásio and a tribute to Mamonas Assassinas. In Ansião, the July‑August celebrations headline Miguel Araújo, Sara Correia and Sons do Minho, open a €30 000 disc‑golf field and update the municipal cultural centre. Curia (Anadia) launches a summer “Concertos no Parque” series on 18 July, beginning with the Gringo’s Washboard Band. The Arte Doce fair in Lagos runs 22‑26 July, offering free concerts by Ana Moura, Dino D’Santiago and others alongside regional sweets and crafts. A religious gathering titled “3ª Noite da Trombeta” is scheduled for 15 July in São Paulo, Brazil, inviting participants to a biblical‑focused evening.
