ANSM bans sale of FastPen 40 mg peptide in France
The French National Agency for the Safety of Medicines and Health Products (ANSM) has banned the sale and advertising of ‘FastPen 40 mg’ in France. The product, a peptide sold by AZRL LTD via the Azentra Labs website, has not undergone the mandatory health evaluations required by authorities.
Because the product is packaged as an injector pen, the ANSM warned that it may mislead consumers into believing it is an officially authorized medication. The agency has ordered the company to conduct a rapid recall of all distributed units. This follows previous bans in July on two other products from the same company: ‘Azentra Retatrutide 40 mg’ and ‘Azentra FastPen’.
While certain peptides are used in legitimate medical treatments like insulin or obesity medications, the ANSM noted that many are marketed online with unsubstantiated claims regarding athletic performance, memory enhancement, or anti-aging. These illicitly sold products pose significant risks due to uncertain composition, dosage, and manufacturing conditions.
