ANSVSA President Alexandru Bociu spent €40,000 on travel
Alexandru Bociu, president of Romania’s National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority (ANSVSA), spent approximately €40,000 on 60 domestic and international trips during 2025 and 2026.
Official data indicates that Bociu was away from the institution for 192 days over this two-year period. In 2025 alone, he recorded 27 domestic trips and 7 international visits, including travel to Brussels, Poland, and Tunisia, totaling 122 days of travel. The costs for his 2025 trips amounted to approximately 89,519 lei, with roughly 63,794 lei spent on international travel.
Reports suggest these expenditures follow previous findings by the Romanian Court of Accounts regarding financial irregularities at the agency.
