ANT1 launches drama series “Spiliades” set in 1960s Aegean
Greek broadcaster ANT1 is debuting a new drama series titled “Spiliades”. The show adapts the bestselling novel by Maria Georgiadou, with the screenplay co‑written by her son Alkiviadis Tzortzoglou.
Set in the summer of 1962, the story begins on the island of Syros when a violent Aegean storm capsizes a boat and leaves the protagonist, Niki, stranded and amnesic in the village of Psara on Chios. She must rebuild her life, confront a mysterious lover, and choose between reclaiming her lost past and protecting the new family she creates. The series weaves themes of memory, identity, and love against a backdrop of post‑war Greek island life, and is positioned as a flagship offering for ANT1’s upcoming television season.
