ANT1 to premiere new drama series ‘Derby’ set in 1987

The ANT1 television network is set to premiere a new drama series titled ‘Derby’ on Monday, September 21, at 21:00 with a double episode. Set in 1987, the story begins in Athens, where Stella Smaragdi, a young music teacher, faces wrongful police accusations.

To avoid imprisonment, Stella enters a dangerous agreement to act as a police informant in Patra. She must infiltrate ‘Derby’, a glamorous yet suspicious nightclub owned by Aleko Avramidi and his wife, the legendary singer Xenia Avramidou, who is also Stella's mother that abandoned her in childhood.

Stella is accompanied by Aris Deligiannis, an officer using a false identity to assist in dismantling criminal networks while protecting her. The narrative explores themes of passion, betrayal, and secrets within the vibrant, high-intensity atmosphere of the late 1980s.
