Antalya forest fire survivor Luna reunited with owners

A 10-year-old cat named Luna has been reunited with her owners following a two-month recovery process after being caught in a forest fire in the Kumluca district of Antalya.

The fire, which occurred on July 29 and affected the Yazır and Belen neighborhoods as well as areas near Olimpos Ancient City and Adrasan, was brought under control by July 30. During the incident, gendarmerie personnel rescued Luna from the flames and provided initial aid to alleviate her pain.

Upon examination, Luna was found to have suffered approximately 40 percent skin loss and respiratory difficulties. Following her rescue, she was treated at the Kemer Veterinary Clinic by veterinarian Olgun Aslan and his team. After battling potential complications such as organ failure, Luna was successfully discharged and returned to her owners, retired teachers Huriye and Halit Konukseven, on October 8.
