Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival announces finalists and special program
The 63rd Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, scheduled for October 24–31, 2026, has announced the finalists for its third Cinema Schools Student Film Competition. Out of 70 applications from 70 different faculties across 48 universities in Turkey, 12 projects have reached the final stage. The finalists will have the opportunity to meet cinema professionals and attend accredited screenings of domestic and international films. The winner of the Best Film award will receive the Golden Orange statuette.
As part of the festival's international program, a special section titled ‘Roots, Light, and Camera!’ will showcase films from creators working amidst war and occupation. This selection includes productions from Iran, Lebanon, Ukraine, and Palestine. Featured works include the Ukrainian film ‘Another Day in the Metal Box’ directed by Gleb Feldman, the Iranian film ‘The Land of Angels’ directed by Babak Khajehpasha, and the multi-national co-production ‘Palestine 36’ directed by Annemarie Jacir. The section aims to highlight filmmakers who use cinema as a means of existence and expression despite extraordinary circumstances.
