Antalya hosts 21st International Forensic Medicine Days
The 21st International Forensic Medicine Days concluded in Antalya, Turkey, following a seven-day event held from September 21 to 27, 2026. The conference brought together forensic experts, academics, judicial members, and criminal specialists from 40 countries across five continents.
Under the central theme of “addiction and expertise,” the program featured 28 sessions covering a wide range of modern scientific and legal topics. Key discussions included the role of artificial intelligence in forensic science, digital evidence, deepfake technologies, forensic DNA, and the identification of victims in mass disasters. Other sessions addressed human rights, forensic psychiatry, pathology, virtual autopsy, and the analysis of traffic accidents involving autonomous vehicles.
Dr. Hızır Aslıyüksek, President of the Forensic Medicine Institute, noted that 47 scientists presented research papers during the intensive program. The event also included specialized sessions on disability assessment and judicial expertise, involving experts from various international and domestic universities. The conference was supported by the Anadolu Agency as its global communication partner.
