Antalya hosts orienteering competition in Kaleiçi

As part of the 11th International Kaleiçi Old Town Festival, Muratpaşa Municipality organized its second orienteering competition in the historic Kaleiçi district of Antalya. The event brought together over 800 participants across four categories: families, youth, stars, and adults.

Starting from the historic Üç Kapılar landmark, competitors used maps and compasses to navigate 35 target points through the narrow, labyrinthine streets of the old city. The competition aimed to develop navigation and map-reading skills, particularly for younger participants, while offering a way to explore the area's historical atmosphere.

Varol Tanğ, Muratpaşa Municipality Youth and Sports Manager, noted that participation grew significantly from approximately 384 people last year to 815 this year. He also mentioned that the municipality expects to host the World Masters Orienteering Championship in 2028, an event projected to attract around 15,000 participants.
