Antalya: Man killed in targeted shooting linked to family feud

İlhan Kaval, a 44-year-old employee of the Van Metropolitan Municipality, was killed in an armed attack in the Konyaaltı district of Antalya. Kaval had traveled from Van to visit his brother when he was targeted while driving near his brother's apartment in the Hurma neighborhood.

An unidentified assailant opened fire on Kaval’s vehicle, discharging approximately 13 shots. Kaval sustained multiple gunshot wounds and died at the hospital despite medical intervention. The attacker fled the scene on foot.

Preliminary investigations suggest the attack may be linked to a long-standing feud between the Kaval family and the perpetrator, a conflict that had previously caused the family to relocate to various cities from Van. Local police and homicide bureaus are currently conducting an investigation to apprehend the suspect.
