Antalya Municipality vehicle tender investigation reveals inflated costs

An indictment involving a 1.14 billion TL vehicle rental tender for the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality has revealed significant cost inflation. According to a Court of Accounts report, the estimated costs for the 24 items included in the tender were set at rates between 231 percent and 264 percent above actual market values.

The investigation follows allegations of bribery and bid-rigging involving Gökhan Böcek. The report indicates that market price research was not conducted with realistic data, creating a basis for contract prices to exceed market rates. The tender, which was signed on October 31, 2024, for a total of 1,140,926,560 TL, is central to ongoing legal proceedings regarding corruption.
