Gold prices in Indonesia decline amid global market volatility

Gold prices in Indonesia experienced a downward trend on October 22, 2026. PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (Antam) reported a price drop of Rp4,000 per gram, bringing the price of 1-gram gold bars to Rp2,550,000. The buyback price also decreased to Rp2,365,000 per gram.

Other major providers also saw price adjustments. At Pegadaian, Galeri24 gold prices fell to Rp2,499,000 per gram, while UBS gold was priced at Rp2,524,000 per gram. These local movements occur against a backdrop of global volatility, where international gold prices have fluctuated near the US$ 4,000 per ounce level.

Market analysts suggest that rising crude oil prices and subsequent inflation concerns are driving these shifts. While gold is traditionally a hedge against inflation, expectations of sustained high interest rates by central banks, including the Federal Reserve, may reduce its attractiveness as a non-yielding asset. Additionally, the weakening Rupiah against the US Dollar continues to influence local gold pricing dynamics.
