Antarctica cruise lines unveil new expedition and photography offerings

Poseidon Expeditions announced two exclusive Antarctic photography experiences for the 2026 season. The Polar Photography School, limited to 16 participants, costs USD 660 and includes priority landings, three guided on‑shore sessions, Zodiac photo shoots and image‑review meetings. A private session option is priced at USD 440 for individuals and USD 550 for couples, providing a 1½‑hour shoot, ten professionally edited images, all raw files on a USB drive and a souvenir memory stick. Both cruises run from 28 Nov‑9 Dec and 8‑19 Dec 2026 with discounts of 25 % and 10 % respectively.

Atlas Ocean Voyages is expanding its "Fly the Drake" program for the 2027‑2028 Antarctic season, adding six departures across two styles. The Drake Express offers a seven‑night round‑trip from King George Island with private charter flights between Punta Arenas, Chile, and Antarctica, eliminating the traditional two‑day Drake Passage crossing. The Drake Fly & Sail combines a sea crossing of the Drake Passage with a return charter flight. Departures are scheduled for 19 Nov, 28 Nov, 5 Dec 2027 and 3, 12, 19 Feb 2028. itineraries include hotel stays in Punta Arenas, Zodiac safaris, guided landings, optional kayaking, overnight camping, a complimentary Polar Plunge and cultural immersion events. James A.
