Antawn Jamison returns to UNC as professor and coaching advisor

Antawn Jamison has returned to the University of North Carolina in a new capacity, joining the UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media as a visiting professor of the practice for sports communication. Jamison will co-teach a sports communication class alongside Tyler Hansbrough and professor Livis Freeman.

In addition to his academic role, Jamison played a significant part in the university's recent coaching search. Serving on the search committee, Jamison utilized his professional background as the former director of pro personnel for the Washington Wizards to recommend Michael Malone for the head coaching position. Jamison noted that the collegiate level has become increasingly similar to the professional level, leading him to suggest Malone as a candidate capable of making the transition from the NBA to college basketball.
