Ante Budimir scores for Osasuna in friendly loss to Napoli

Croatian striker Ante Budimir opened his scoring account for Spanish club Osasuna in a pre‑season friendly against Italian side Napoli. The match, played in Castel di Sangro, Italy, ended 2‑1 to Napoli after goals from Matteo Politano (27') and Lorenzo Lucca (53'). Budimir entered at halftime and converted a penalty in the 69th minute, his first goal since the World Cup break.

After the match Budimir said he was pleased with his return to full training and the rhythm of the new coach’s ideas. The friendly was Osasuna’s third preparation game, following wins over Racing Santander, Ipswich Town and Norwich City, and the team now looks ahead to a clash with Al Ain and the opening league fixture against Celta Vigo.
