Zina Koutselini apologizes to Maria Antona after controversial comment

Greek presenter Zina Koutselini has issued a public apology to radio producer Maria Antona following backlash over a comment regarding Antona’s appearance on the program ‘Mega Non Stop’. Koutselini had previously described the show’s composition as ‘one mini, two men, and news’, a remark that many viewed as a dismissal of Antona’s professional presence.

In response to the criticism, Koutselini stated on her program that she had already sent a personal message to Antona, acknowledging that Antona was right to feel offended. Koutselini clarified that her intention was to comment on the ‘television squeeze’ rather than target Antona personally, and expressed openness to a public dialogue.

The incident drew significant reactions from other media figures. Giorgos Liagas, Antona’s partner, criticized the remark as ‘unacceptable’ and ‘unprofessional’, while journalists Stamatina Tsimtili and Tina Messaropoulou also condemned the comment as inelegant. Various colleagues, including Antelina Varthakouri, expressed public support for Antona.
