Antequera and Mijas announce municipal employment and infrastructure updates
The Antequera City Council has opened a tender for 19 lots related to supplies, services, and works for the 2026-2027 Agricultural Employment Promotion Program (PFEA). The total amount for these contracts is 913,735.95 euros, with a deadline for offers set for September 16.
Total investment for all projects under the upcoming PFEA exceeds 1.96 million euros. The works include urban redevelopment in various streets, maintenance of the El Maulí Sports City, and cleaning and maintenance plans for the municipality. Mayor Manolo Barón noted that this specific tender covers specialized materials and labor rather than the direct hiring of PFEA personnel.
In Mijas, the City Council has approved a public employment offer to stabilize 380 positions, primarily labor-based. This decision follows a long administrative process initiated in 2022 and recent legal disputes regarding previous modifications to the employment plan. The current local government, consisting of PP, Vox, and Por Mi Pueblo, has adapted the 2022 proposal to current legal frameworks to provide a clear roadmap for temporary staff.
