Antequera to host 15th National Goat Forum

The 15th National Goat Forum will take place in Antequera on October 22 and 23. Organized by the Andalusian Federation of Purebred Goat Breeders Associations (Cabrandalucía) and Cooperativas Agro-alimentarias de Andalucía, the event aims to bring together the entire value chain, including farmers, veterinarians, researchers, and dairy industries.

The forum will address critical topics such as animal health—specifically discussing blue tongue, tuberculosis, scrapie, and caprine arthritis encephalitis—as well as innovation, nutrition, animal welfare, and generational renewal. Additionally, participants will analyze the strategic plan for the goat sector, European policy perspectives, and the marketing of goat milk in both national and international markets.

Key discussions will include sessions on the challenges of goat milk in Europe featuring representatives from companies such as Mercadona, COVAP, and Quesos El Pastor. The event is supported by the Antequera City Council and the Málaga Provincial Council.
