Anthea Turner accuses Anne Robinson of vilifying her in 1990s tabloids

Former Blue Peter presenter Anthea Turner said former Countdown host Anne Robinson wrote "very spiteful" newspaper columns about her after her 1990s divorce. Robinson, then a columnist for the Daily Express, along with Daily Mail journalist Lynda Lee‑Potter, allegedly attacked Turner when she left her manager DJ Peter Powell for property developer Grant Bovey.

Turner, 66, explained that the media portrayed her as a homewrecker after the affair, leading to intense tabloid scrutiny. She and Grant Bovey married in 1999, split in 2012 following his infidelity and bankruptcy, and have since divorced. Turner is now engaged to businessman Mark Armstrong and has relocated from the Cotswolds to London for health reasons.
