Anthony Chen’s ‘We Are All Strangers’ holds Singapore homecoming

Filmmaker Anthony Chen has released ‘We Are All Strangers’, the final installment of his ‘Growing Up’ trilogy. The film explores the complexities of a joint family living under one roof, focusing on the relationship between a father, Boon Kiat, and his aimless son, Junyang, as well as the arrival of a new stepmother.

Following an international festival circuit that included the Berlinale, the film held a homecoming event at S11 Ang Mo Kio coffeeshop in Singapore. Sponsored by Tiger Beer, the event brought together Chen, the cast—including Yeo Yann Yann, Koh Jia Ler, Andi Lim, and Regene Lim—and over 500 fans. The setting was chosen to mirror the film’s heartland themes and iconic Singaporean coffee shop culture.
