Michigan man arrested for allegedly threatening FBI Director Kash Patel

Anthony Daniel Palazzolo, 42, of Chesterfield Township, Michigan, was arrested and charged with interstate communications involving threats. Federal prosecutors allege that in early October, Palazzolo sent Facebook messages to an associate of FBI Director Kash Patel, claiming he had “put a hit” on the individual and referring to Patel as a “dead mf.”

According to the criminal complaint, Palazzolo, who used the moniker “Baby Bird,” was located by federal investigators through his Facebook and TikTok accounts. During an interview with FBI agents on October 9, Palazzolo reportedly admitted to sending the messages but apologized, stating he had no actual intent to cause harm. He expressed grievances regarding what he believed were violations of his property rights by the government.

Following the initial interview, Palazzolo allegedly sent further threatening communications. Prosecutors claim he emailed an FBI Task Force officer, a Texas district court, the Secret Service, and the Supreme Court with threats of sexual violence. He also reportedly left voicemails threatening to use “deadly force” against federal officials. Palazzolo has an extensive criminal history involving charges in Michigan, Texas, and Florida, including a 2018 charge for making a false report of a terrorist threat.
