Anthony Dennis to join Al Jazira from Göztepe

Nigerian midfielder Anthony Dennis is set to transfer from Turkish Super Lig club Göztepe to United Arab Emirates side Al Jazira. Reports indicate that the two clubs have reached an agreement for the 22-year-old defensive midfielder in a deal valued at €5m.

Dennis, who joined Göztepe from Nigeria’s HB Academy Abuja in 2023, has become a key player for the Turkish side, making 31 appearances and scoring three goals last season. While his performances had previously attracted significant interest from several Bundesliga clubs—including Hoffenheim, Mainz, Augsburg, and Stuttgart—as well as interest from leagues in England and Spain, he has instead opted to move to the UAE Pro League.

Dennis has also gained recognition on the international stage, receiving an invitation to the Nigerian Super Eagles squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
