Anthony Fauci and FDA vaccine side effect study requests

Released emails reveal that former FDA head Janet Woodcock urged Dr. Anthony Fauci and Dr. Francis Collins to fund studies into COVID-19 vaccine side effects in May 2021. Woodcock noted that healthcare professionals had reported adverse events that did not fit distinctive syndromes and were difficult to evaluate with standard testing. She warned that failing to study these issues could “come back to bite you later” and suggested that such research should proceed even without pharmaceutical industry support.

Separately, reports indicate that months after leaving his role as director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Anthony Fauci took an advisory role at the Fondazione Biotecnopolo di Siena, an Italian government-backed institute. Following his appointment, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) awarded over $44 million to a pandemic-vaccine research program co-led by the center’s scientific director. Procurement records show that research connected to this NIH-funded program is being conducted within the organization Fauci joined.
