In 2013, the DEA investigated Webster’s Lifetree Pain Clinic in Salt Lake City following allegations of up to 100 overdose deaths. Webster attributed the deaths to suicide, and while the U.S. Attorney for the District of Utah declined to pursue charges, Webster’s ability to prescribe opioids was revoked.
