Anthony Hopkins condemns bullying by directors on film sets
Sir Anthony Hopkins has spoken out against bullying and tyrannical behavior by directors on film sets. In a video interview with The New York Times, the Oscar winner stated that he has never tolerated such behavior and would confront those who attempt to bully actors.
Hopkins recounted a specific incident where he intervened when a director began shouting at a young actress while providing notes. He threatened to walk off the set if the director raised his voice even one decibel higher. Hopkins emphasized that no film is important enough to justify the humiliation of others, remarking, “It’s a film, it’s a stupid film, that’s all it is. It’s not important.”
