Anthony Hopkins to star in post-apocalyptic film 2048

Actor Anthony Hopkins is set to star in the post-apocalyptic science fiction film ‘2048’, directed by Timothy Woodward Jr. The story is set in a future where humanity survives in a vast underground society controlled by a regime known as the Collective. Hopkins will portray Bryant, a brilliant and ruthless architect of the authoritarian system.

Separately, discussions regarding the Apple TV adaptation of the ‘Silo’ series have highlighted creative changes from the original novels by Hugh Howey. Notably, the staircase in the series was changed from metal to concrete. Author Hugh Howey noted that while metal worked for the books, a metal staircase would have been an acoustic nightmare for filming and too narrow for effective cinematography. The shift to concrete helps convey the scale and lived-in atmosphere required for the television production.
