Anthony Lopes joins Angers SCO in Ligue 1

Portuguese goalkeeper Anthony Lopes is set to join Angers SCO in Ligue 1, marking the third club of his career in the French top flight. After a long tenure with Olympique Lyonnais and a recent stint at FC Nantes, the 35-year-old arrives at Angers to succeed Hervé Koffi.

Lopes addressed his reputation for being unpopular among various fanbases across France. In an interview with L’Equipe, he stated, "I am targeted in all the stadiums in France, but that poses no problem to me." He expressed his intention to fight for the club and its colors, believing that consistent performance and a competitive temperament will eventually earn him the respect of supporters.

He emphasized his commitment to being a driving force for the team, noting that his combative nature and 100% effort in training and matches will be essential in Angers' efforts to secure league survival.
