Anthony Mackie discusses 'Avengers: Doomsday' production and cast encounters

Actor Anthony Mackie, who portrays Sam Wilson/Captain America, has shared insights regarding the production of the upcoming Marvel film 'Avengers: Doomsday.'

During a discussion about his experience on set, Mackie recounted a meeting with X-Men veterans Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart. After introducing himself as Captain America, McKellen reportedly responded, “Wonderful, and you deserve that.”

Additionally, Mackie spoke at San Diego Comic-Con about the personal sacrifices required by the film's intense production schedule. He noted that he had to miss family moments, such as his children's baseball games, but stated that the emotional response and appreciation from fans made the effort worthwhile. The film, directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, is expected to feature characters from the Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-Men franchises.
