Anthony Michael Hall reflects on friendship with Robert Downey Jr

Actor Anthony Michael Hall has reflected on his long-standing friendship with Robert Downey Jr., noting that he visited the actor during his period of legal trouble in the late 1990s. Speaking on the Teen Beat podcast, Hall discussed their shared history, which includes working together on 'Weird Science' and Hall helping Downey secure an audition for 'Saturday Night Live' in 1985.

Hall praised Downey’s professional comeback and credited his wife, Susan, as being instrumental to that success. He described Downey as a “very real, very down-to-earth guy” despite his global fame. Hall also touched upon his own experiences with the pressures of early stardom and noted that he has maintained sobriety since 1990, while Downey has been sober since 2003.
