Anthony Richardson linked to NFL trade rumors

Anthony Richardson’s future with the Indianapolis Colts has become a subject of league-wide interest following reports that multiple teams have contacted the Colts regarding a potential trade. While no deal is imminent, Richardson is reportedly among several quarterbacks receiving inquiries from other franchises.

The situation is complicated by the current depth chart in Indianapolis. Daniel Jones is positioned as the starter, while Richardson is currently competing with rookie Riley Leonard for the backup role. Despite the trade interest, the Colts have expressed a desire to maintain a three-quarterback roster. Assistant general manager Ed Dodds stated, “We want to have three (QBs) that can play. So, if he’s one of them, he’s gonna be here.”

Richardson, the No. 4 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, remains a high-value asset due to his physical tools and age. The Colts face a decision regarding whether a trade offer would be significant enough to justify moving a player with high upside, especially as roster cuts approach.
