Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots tie 13-13 in preseason opener

The Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots played to a 13-13 tie in their preseason opener at Gillette Stadium.

Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson started the game, completing 11 of 14 passes for 145 yards and rushing for a 1-yard touchdown. However, his performance was marked by two turnovers, including a fumble and an interception by Kindle Vildor. Riley Leonard took over in the second half, completing 10 of 21 passes for 89 yards and an interception. Undrafted free agent Anderson Castle made a notable debut for the Colts with an 18-yard rush.

For the Patriots, backup quarterback Tommy DeVito threw a 12-yard touchdown pass to Kyle Williams. The New England defense recorded two interceptions, including one by John Saunders Jr. Offensive lineman Marcus Bryant delivered a strong performance, earning high grades for pass-blocking during his time on the field.

During the final play of the game, Colts special teams coordinator Brian Mason was knocked to the ground on the sideline during a Hail Mary attempt and appeared to be in pain.
