Anthony Smith pleads not guilty to felony charges in Nebraska

Former UFC title challenger Anthony Smith has entered a not-guilty plea regarding four felony charges in Nebraska. The charges stem from a July 26 incident in Gretna involving his wife, Mikhala Smith.

According to prosecutors from the Sarpy County District Attorney’s Office, the allegations include terroristic threats, first-degree false imprisonment, and an attempted felony. Authorities claim that following an altercation at a bar, Smith threatened to kill his wife, forced her into a vehicle, and subsequently attempted to strike her with the car multiple times after she exited the vehicle. No physical harm was reported.

Smith was released on a $500,000 bond with strict conditions, including a prohibition on contacting his wife. While the legal proceedings continue, Mikhala Smith has publicly defended her husband, describing the incident as a mental health struggle and stating she called for help to protect him from himself.

A status hearing is scheduled for September 21 at 1:30 p.m. local time, where Smith is required to appear in person.
