Anthony Stolarz faces fan backlash after Maple Leafs loss to Utah Mammoth

Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz faced intense criticism from fans following a 5-4 loss to the Utah Mammoth. Stolarz allowed five goals on 28 shots, including several instances where fans felt the goals could have been prevented.

In response to the performance, some fans on social media called for the team to trade Stolarz and instead promote Artur Akhtyamov, a 24-year-old Russian goaltender currently playing for the Toronto Marlies. Akhtyamov has appeared in three games for the Maple Leafs previously.

During the game, Utah established an early lead with goals from Daniil But, Vincent Trocheck, and Mikhail Sergachev. Auston Matthews scored a power-play goal for Toronto to narrow the gap, but the Mammoth ultimately secured the victory.
