Anthony Thomas Chocolates expands retail reach with new Buckeye Bar
Anthony Thomas Chocolates, a family-owned confectionery company based in Columbus, Ohio, is expanding its product offerings and retail presence. The company has introduced a new 3-Piece Buckeye Bar, designed specifically for the convenience-store market. This grab-and-go format aims to make the company’s signature Buckeyes more accessible for impulse purchases and on-the-go consumption.
Nick Trifelos, a fifth-generation member of the Anthony Thomas candy family, stated that the new packaging and format were developed to increase competitiveness in the convenience-store space. Following its release in late 2025, the product has already secured placement with a major convenience-store chain, with discussions ongoing for further retail expansion.
In addition to its retail growth, the company maintains a physical presence through its chocolate shop on West Fifth Avenue in the Grandview area of Columbus. The shop offers a variety of handmade items, including dark almond bark, butter cremes, and cherry cordials, alongside custom gift boxes and discounted imperfect pieces.
