Anthrax headlines reopening of Saint Vitus Bar in Brooklyn

The heavy metal band Anthrax headlined an intimate concert on September 4 to celebrate the grand reopening of the Saint Vitus Bar at its new location in Bushwick, Brooklyn. The venue previously operated in Greenpoint before closing in February 2024 due to permit issues.

During the 16-song performance, Anthrax debuted several tracks, including “The Edge of Perfection,” “Clobberin’ Time” (a cover of Sick of It All as a tribute to the late Lou Koller), and the first full live performance of “Everybody’s Got a Plan.” The band also performed rarities such as “Now It’s Dark” and “Lone Justice,” which had not been played since 2021.

The event also served as a filming session for a music video for the song “NYC 93.” This performance precedes the release of Anthrax’s twelfth studio album, “Cursum Perficio,” which is scheduled for release on September 18 via Megaforce and Nuclear Blast.
