Anthrax launches animated character series ahead of 'Cursum Perficio' album

New York heavy‑metal band Anthrax is set to release its twelfth studio album, *Cursum Perficio*, on 18 September 2026 through Megaforce Records. To promote the record, the group is issuing a series of weekly animated short clips that depict the characters illustrated on the album’s cover. The first clip was released on 28 July, and each Tuesday a new character—such as the Magician, the Woman in White, the Dog and others—will be featured.

Drummer Charlie Benante explained that the concept was inspired by Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas” campaign, aiming to give each cover figure a back‑story. The cover artwork was created by artist Mark Stritzel, with animation handled by Emmanuel Cappellini. The album arrives ten years after 2016’s *For All Kings*, which reached the Billboard 200 top 10.
