Anthropic AI Gains Elon Musk Praise, Boosting Amazon and Alphabet Stakes

Elon Musk publicly reversed his earlier view of AI start‑up Anthropic, saying he was "clearly wrong" and now regards the company as "the leader in AI" with its Claude models. The admission follows Anthropic's recent large funding round and a valuation estimated near $965 billion.

Amazon and Alphabet are among Anthropic's biggest backers. Alphabet holds roughly 14 % of the company, while Amazon's stake is in the mid‑teens, each worth well over $100 billion at current valuations. Amazon has already committed about $33 billion and plans to invest further as Anthropic meets milestones. Anthropic also plans to spend more than $100 billion on Amazon Web Services over the next decade and about $200 billion on Google Cloud over five years, tying the AI firm closely to both cloud providers. Musk's endorsement may influence market perception of Anthropic's prospects and the financial outlook for its major investors.
