Anthropic and OpenAI lead global AI revenue rankings

According to a report by the Rhode Group, artificial intelligence companies are rapidly converting technology into multi-billion dollar businesses. The industry is characterized by a significant revenue gap between top players, though global competition remains intense between American giants and a new generation of Chinese firms.

Leading the market are US-based Anthropic, with $65 billion in annual revenue from its Claude product, and OpenAI, which generates $40 billion annually through ChatGPT.

In China, ByteDance leads with $4 billion in revenue from Doubao, followed by Alibaba Group at $2.4 billion with Qwen. Other notable Chinese contributors include Zhipu AI ($1.8 billion), Moonshot AI ($1 billion), MiniMax ($800 million), Kuaishou ($500 million), and DeepSeek ($500 million).
