Anthropic expands Claude AI with cloud integration and Slack Claude Tag

Anthropic announced that its Claude Desktop can now run through third‑party cloud providers Amazon Bedrock and Google Cloud Vertex AI. The update adds a Chat tab to the 3P mode, which previously supported only Cowork and Code, and details how governance features such as SSO, external IdP integration, role‑based access and audit logging can be configured using the cloud providers' native IAM tools.

In a related rollout, Anthropic introduced Claude Tag for Slack, a collaborative AI assistant that can be added to any channel with an @Claude mention. The feature supports multi‑user interaction, persistent context, autonomous notifications, and asynchronous task handling. It uses a new “Agent ID” access model that gives the AI scoped permissions per channel, allowing integration with tools such as GitHub, data warehouses, or CRM systems while preventing cross‑channel data leakage. Anthropic reports that Claude Tag already generates about 65 % of the code written by its product teams. The feature is available in beta for Claude Enterprise and Team customers.
