Anthropic expands Claude AI with computer use and security tools
Anthropic has announced significant expansions to its Claude AI platform, focusing on agentic capabilities and cybersecurity. The company has made its ‘Computer use’ tool, Skills API, and File API publicly available for developers and enterprise users. These updates allow Claude to access a user’s computer, control a mouse or keyboard, take screenshots, and access the internet via a new ‘Browser use’ tool. Additionally, the File API now offers 1TB of storage and increased rate limits.
In the realm of security, Anthropic is deploying its cyber-capable model, Claude Mythos 5, within Claude Security for enterprise customers to perform vulnerability scans. To support the ecosystem, the company launched the Defender Advantage Fund (0xDAF), committing $35 million in Claude credits to organizations securing open-source software. Anthropic is also working to integrate Mythos 5 into the products of cybersecurity partners and plans to expand its Cyber Verification Program to include broader dual-use capabilities.
