Anthropic launches Claude integration for Google Workspace
Anthropic has launched the public beta of ‘Claude for Google Workspace’, an integration that allows its AI assistant to work directly within Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides. Available to users on paid plans—including Pro, Team, and Enterprise—the tool functions via a sidebar that can read and edit content in real-time.
In Google Docs, Claude can rewrite text, adjust headings, and suggest structural changes while preserving existing formatting. For Google Sheets, the assistant can generate formulas, create pivot tables, and build charts; it can also use Python to clean or merge complex datasets. In Google Slides, Claude can design new slides based on existing themes and check for visual issues like overlapping elements or unreadable text.
Users can choose between two operational modes: ‘Ask before edits’, which requires manual approval for every change, and ‘Accept all edits’, which allows for more autonomous processing. Additionally, Anthropic has introduced new connectors that enable users to create and modify Google Workspace files directly from the Claude chat interface.
