Anthropic expands Claude utility through Slack integration and scientific research support

Anthropic is expanding its AI ecosystem through new internal workflow tools and increased support for the scientific community. The company has introduced Claude Tag, an AI-powered Slack integration currently in public beta. This tool allows employees to automate labor-intensive tasks such as data analysis, legal reviews, and customer support by tagging @Claude within Slack threads to utilize shared context and connected tools.

Internal teams have reported significant productivity gains using the integration. For example, the legal department has reduced marketing collateral review cycles from over a day to approximately 30 minutes. Other departments have used the tool to condense massive amounts of customer feedback and transform lengthy discussion threads into polished documents in a fraction of the time required for manual processing.

Simultaneously, Anthropic is launching an initiative to provide 10,000 free or discounted Claude Team subscription seats to scientists at accredited academic or nonprofit research institutions. This program expands upon the company’s previous AI for Science credit program, which was initially focused on biological sciences but will now include mathematics, physics, computer science, and engineering. Researchers may also apply for up to $50,000 in credits per project to support high-resource computing needs. Anthropic stated that user conversations and research data are not used to train its AI models.
