Anthropic extends free Claude Fable 5 promotion to July 12, 2026

Anthropic announced that the free promotional access to its flagship model Claude Fable 5 will remain available to users on paid plans until 23:59 Pacific Time on 12 July 2026 (15:59 JST on 13 July). The extension follows criticism after the original cut‑off was set for 7 July. All paid‑plan subscribers – Pro, Max, Team and premium Enterprise seats – can use up to 50 % of their weekly usage quota on the model at no extra charge across web, mobile, desktop, Claude Cowork, Claude Code and related tools. No activation is required; the change is applied automatically.

When a user reaches the quota limit they must either purchase usage‑credit tokens or switch to another Claude model. After the promotional period ends, Claude Fable 5 will move to a pay‑per‑token pricing scheme of $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output tokens. The decision also reflects earlier temporary suspension of the model due to U.S. export‑control orders, which were lifted on 1 July. Anthropic said the model will be reintegrated into regular subscriptions once capacity permits.
