Anthropic introduces integrated browser for Claude desktop app

Anthropic is introducing an integrated browser within its Claude desktop application. This feature, which is being rolled out to paying subscribers, allows the AI agent to navigate the web within its own dedicated space rather than using the user’s personal web browser.

By creating an autonomous browsing environment inside the desktop app, Anthropic aims to prevent the AI from interfering with the user’s active tabs and sessions. This separation also serves as a security measure, ensuring the AI agent does not have direct access to the user’s personal browser history, saved passwords, and authenticated accounts.
